If you work in any such company, institute, shop etc. Where more than 20 employee’s work. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of your company to first register itself under EPEFO department and then open your PF account. The employer has to deposit 12 percent of the salary (Basic + DA) deduct from PF members and the same amount from their end. So, the double money is deposited in your PF account.
If any PF member’s PF money is deposited in his PF account in the same company or in different companies for at least 10 years. In such a situation, that employee becomes entitled for PF pension after 58 years. Regarding which employees will be able to get free inquiry or assistance through the said helpline.
If there is sudden death of any PF members employee. In such a situation, the nominee of that employee is provided financial assistance up to a maximum of Rs 7 lakh under the EDLI scheme. You neither need any contribution nor registration anywhere for this. You should have only active PF account for this. For information related to this, EPFO department has issued a helpline number on its official X account. PF users will have to call EPFO Helpline Number – 14470 for this. To get assistance on this helpline, services will be available from 7 am to 9 pm. On which you will be provided assistance in 12 languages.
